The Federation’s annual conference, organised by one of our local children’s book groups in collaboration with the National Executive, takes place every year in spring, in different locations around the country. Talks, debates, seminars, workshops and exhibitions all feature at the conference. This is a great opportunity to hear authors and illustrators discuss their work as well as socialising with others who are passionate about children’s books and getting everyone reading.
For teachers, this has to be the best CPD possible. Finding out about new titles for all ages, being surrounded by 'book talk', meeting authors and illustrators- it really is the perfect way to gather ideas for developing libraries, class book corners, choosing a class reader...
Several members of the group have already signed up so there will be plenty of familiar faces!
The 2016 conference of the Federation of Children’s Book Groups, ‘Building Bridges – Forging connections and growing readers‘, will take place at the Telford Innovation Campus, University of Wolverhampton, on 1st to 3rd April 2016
