Meeting Shifty McGifty & Slippery Sam

What an amazing day! The winners of the North Somerset Teachers' Book Awards Picture Book Category came to visit us today!

Having visited St Francis' School in Nailsea and Bournville Primary in Weston ( more about these visits coming soon!), Tracey and Steven- with Shifty McGifty, Slippery Sam and Kitty Le Claw- came to Waterstones in Weston where they signed even more books and ate cakes before receiving their award.

Members of the group came to say hello and get copies of the books signed- many as Christmas presents for lucky family and friends who will find a real treat amongst their gifts this year!

Nathaniel taught us all how to do the 'broken thumb' trick...

...before doing the honours and presenting the award.

Tracey and Steven (and Shifty and Sam!) were really pleased with their award -

- and couldn't wait to tell everyone about it!

We would like to thank them so much for coming to visit us and inspiring lucky children from two of our schools. Everyone loved their sessions- children and adults- and were really inspired by their lovely characters, the fun stories and the wonderful illustrations!

Thank you to Waterstones in Weston for hosting the signing session.
