A guest post from...Book Island

When I interviewed Greet from Book Island over the summer, her commitment to spreading the love of books to everyone was amazing. This is the first of what (I hope!) will be many such events. Please spread the word and attend if you can!

FREE multilingual children's event at Bristol Central LibrarySaturday 22nd October (2 - 4.30pm)

After many weeks of preparing, it’s now not long anymore until our children’s event at Bristol Central Library this Saturday (2 – 4.30pm).

With the Bristol Story Carousel, we want to reach out to families who love stories, reading for pleasure and arts and crafts inspired by books. Thanks to the generous support of the Polish Cultural Institute in London, we’ve been able to keep this event free of charge.

We’re extremely fortunate to be living in a city with so many talented illustrators and authors, who will be sharing their stories with us at the library, allowing for 3 hours of non-stop story reading in English and other languages. Simulatenously, we’ll be running two arts&crafts workshops.

As the theme is BYO – Bring Your Own – Language we hope to hear many of the world’s languages in the children’s area of the library.

This is our first big event in Bristol, a city that’s still pretty new to us. It would be great if you could share this with your friends, nurseries, PTA's and schools. The event is also on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1794203627519464/.

Best wishes and many thanks to those of you who’ve already actively helped us promote this event!
