Poppy Pym

An orphan, abandoned at birth, Poppy Pym has been brought up by the performers of Madam Pym's Spectacular Travelling Circus. Her life has been amazing- free and different- but, as she approaches twelve, it is decided that she should go to boarding school and make friends with other children.

In her first adventure, Poppy Pym and the Pharaoh's Curse, Poppy solves the mystery of the curse and the unexplained happenings around school, exposing the culprit and dealing with red-herrings along the way.

Poppy is an excellent character; her voice is strong, distinctive and very likeable! With her friends, Ingrid and Kip, she is ready to take on anything!

Poppy's story continues in Poppy Pym and the Double Jinx. Although set in her school,St Smithens, this book branches out into the area around and the town of Brimwell.

When the town hall burns down, the amateur production of Macbeth is moved to the school, including the local heart-throb, Lucas Quest. As more and more accidents happen, Poppy and her friends are on the case again.

Full of humour and great illustrations, this sequel is great fun, easily living up to the charm and energy of the first. Books about this loveable character are sure to engage all readers-  reluctant and keen- and leave them crying out for more! Can't wait for book three!
