Nelle Harper Lee: April 28th 1926- February 19th 2016

“Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.”

I have two copies of Go Set A Watchman. As soon as it was released, my husband and son both bought me a copy- and I still haven't read it.

The reason for this is that To Kill A Mockingbird is so wonderful that I don't want anything to change how I see it.

Like many, I first encountered To Kill A Mockingbird when studied at school- it was one of my O-level (yes, I'm that old!) texts. It was love at the first page!  We were set the first two chapters to read as homework; I had read the book before the end of the day.

To me, this will always be one of those special books.

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
