Charlotte Bronte- 200 years on!

OK- I know she's not a children's author, but who doesn't love a bit of Charlotte Bronte?

Born in Thornton, West Yorkshire on April 21st 1816, Charlotte was the oldest of the three surviving Bronte sisters. Best known for 'Jane Eyre', Charlotte initially wrote under a male pseudonym. Her writing is passionate and intense, creating very memorable characters.

Charlotte died at Haworth on March 31st, 1855.

“Love is real — the most real, the most lasting, the sweetest and yet the bitterest thing we know.” — Shirley

Women are supposed to be very calm generally: but women feel just as men feel.” — Jane Eyre

Happy birthday! I am very pleased to say I got full marks on her birthday quiz!
