Blackwell's, Oxford- the TARDIS in bookshop form!

Blackwell's and Oxford go hand-in-hand as far as I'm concerned. Selling books since 1879, it is as much a part of the city as punting, museums and the University!

The narrow doorways invite you into a series of spaces, leading you further into the shop, each bursting with beautiful books! There are four floors of new, used, rare and antiquarian gems- truly something for every book-lover and those who haven't found the right book yet!

Once inside, you can go up or down. Each department has an excellent range of titles- and there is a department for everything! You can lose yourself for hours in here- every corner you turn seems to lead you somewhere else!

The children's section is a veritable treasure trove of delights. Tucked at the back of the ground floor, the selection on offer is wonderful. Fiction and non-fiction for all ages are gathered in colourful displays on tables and shelves, tempting you to pause and browse at every step.

The staff are always cheerful and helpful- even when faced with the weird and wonderful queries of their customers. Knowledgeable and interested in the books they sell, they are a pleasure to chat to.

Visiting Oxford? Make sure this 'Brilliant Bookshop' is on you list of places to visit!
