Home to a fabulous cathedral, Ripon is one of England's oldest cities whose charm and character remind me of Wells in Somerset. At the heart of the city is the ancient market place and tucked down Westgate Street, one of the roads leading from this, there is a lovely little bookshop which is an absolute must for the book-lover to visit.
'The Little Ripon Bookshop' is exactly what is claims to be. However, what its name fails to tell you is that it is packed full of a wonderful range of books, stationery, maps and cards.
Welcoming and knowledgeable staff are on hand to make recommendations and share their passion for books with customers. The Gruffalo watches over the children's section from his comfy chair, waiting for someone to share a book with him!
The shop may be small, but the selection they have on offer is excellent! A wonderful range of picture books, poetry, non-fiction and fiction are packed into the back of the shop which houses the children's section.
The perfect place to browse and buy, 'The Little Ripon Bookshop' also has wonderful window displays. Currently featuring two of my favourite picture books, 'Oi Cat' and 'The Adventures of Egg Box Dragon', the windows are bright and colourful, tempting you inside!
I won't last the week without popping back to this lovely shop! What will I choose next..?
You can find out more about 'The Little Ripon Bookshop' on their website.
