Today, we went to Killerton House, a beautiful Georgian house set in wonderful gardens. The weather was perfect- crisp, clear and chilly- beautifully autumnal. We started by enjoying the gardens and following the Wind in the Willows trail, but nothing prepared us for the fabulous scenes inside the house!
Each room brought to life a scene from 'The Wind in the Willows'. The attention to detail was amazing and we were told it had taken an army of volunteers many, many hours to put it all together!
The Riverbank, the Wild Woods, Toad Hall- even the often forgotten 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' where Ratty and Mole find the lost otter boy- all the iconic moments from story are brought to life. It's wonderful!
A fabulous way to spend a day, enjoying one of my favourite books! Amazing work, Killerton volunteers!
