With its distinctive name and blue and yellow sign, 'The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop' is a lovely treasure, tucked away in the Cotswolds. As you step over the threshold, the doorstep saying 'Lumen' welcomes you. The welcome is warm and there is a lovely peaceful, calm atmosphere in the shop.
A spacious children's section is temptingly laid out with lots of choice and a comfy sofa to curl up on whilst choosing. Classics, picture books, poetry, information books- all genres and tastes are catered for. They also have a lovely range of dual language titles. A rich range of titles is available- I might just have bought a few things!
The lovely lady working there today told me that the shop was named after a book called 'The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop' by Lewis Buzbee. It's now on my list of books I must read! She also recommended I visit their other bookshop in Nailsworth (which I was planning to do). her enthusiasm for books and the shops was brilliant and means this is a shop I am very keen to go back to soon.
Brilliant bookshops selling brilliant books- just the thing to cheer me up on a chilly Sunday after a tricky week! This is one to visit soon!
You can find out more about both branches of 'The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop' here.
